With operational bases in Wellington and Auckland, New Zealand, we provide hands-on support for bus operators, councils and regulators keen to seize the opportunities of electric transport and minimise the environmental, health and financial risks of fossil fuels.
Erich Livengood
Managing Director
Erich leads the Electric Autobus business. He re-engaged with electric vehicles in New Zealand in 2017 convinced that heavy electric vehicles could beat diesel vehicles on cost in many applications.
He set about applying his over 20 years’ of energy and automotive industry experience to demonstrate cost parity through doing. Erich combines deep supply chain and stakeholder knowledge with business pragmatism and engineering skills to deliver real (and economic) emissions reductions.
His previous positions have included Market Manager at Transpower, Head of Energy at NZX, public sector and governance roles.
Erich holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Asian Studies from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
Marcus Kavermann
Service Manager
Marcus leads our technical service team to ensure fleet performance and customer satisfaction.
With over 25 years of experience in automotive engineering and leadership across OEM, VTNZ, and national service networks, Marcus brings expertise in operational performance, customer care, and technical excellence. A qualified automotive engineer, he is committed to supporting our growing fleet and delivering outstanding service.
Outside of work, Marcus is working toward his Private Pilot’s Licence and enjoys motorcycling, travel, Formula 1, and family time.
Hore (Mak) Makoare
Warehouse Parts Supervisor
As Warehouse Parts Supervisor at Electric Autobus, Mak is responsible for our warehouse parts department. He also works closely with the Service Manager and technicians to ensure smooth operations and strong engagement with staff, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Mak brings 10 years of leadership experience from the New Zealand Army Infantry, where he managed teams, complex operational systems, and strict compliance protocols. His expertise in inventory management, operational planning, and safety oversight, combined with a deep grounding in tikanga Māori and cultural engagement, gives Mak a unique blend of operational and people-focused skills.
Outside of work, Mak prioritises family time with his wife and two children and is passionate about emerging technologies, learning new systems, and creating positive work environments.
Rebekah Rennell
Decarbonisation Adviser
Rebekah is responsible for working with both New Zealand clients and CRRC to help deliver zero emission fleet solutions.
With 25 years of experience she has spent a decade based between China and Europe and dedicated the last 15 years to climate aligned interventions in industry and government, largely focused on energy and transport projects.
She is committed to optimising market solutions to decarbonisation, as a sustainable outcome for both the environment and New Zealand businesses.
Gary Cheng
Service Technician
As a service technician, Gary has been been part of the Electric Autobus team for three years, helping keep our electric buses running smoothly and safely, as well as the EV bus chargers.
Gary's passionate about sustainable transport and enjoys working hands-on with cutting-edge EV technology, from high-voltage systems to battery diagnostics.
I joined Electric Autobus because I wanted to be part of a company that’s driving the future of clean, reliable public transport and making a real difference for communities. What I enjoy most about my role is solving technical problems and learning innovations in EV technology—while working alongside a great team that shares the same vision for sustainability.
Michael Jianfu Wang
Service Technician
As service technician at Electric Autobus, Michael is responsible for bus repair, pre-delivery inspection, technical support.
With more than 10 years of experience in motor industry, and fully qualified both New Zealand and China, Michael brings expertise in troubleshooting and complex repair.
He is committed to achieve success together with customers in the green new energy vehicle industry.
Outside of work, Michael is a marine scientist and likes anything related to the sea, reading, travelling and time with family.
Stephanie Ye Enterprise Management Assistant
As a management assistant at Electric Autobus, Stephanie is responsible for spare parts coordination, timesheet management, customer query tracking, document development, and light bookkeeping.
With two years of experience in Statistics New Zealand and five years in the marketing team at Online Republic managing Google Ads, Stephanie brings expertise in analytical skills, attention to detail, and a process-driven mindset, along with the ability to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency. She is committed to support Electric Autobus’s mission by ensuring smooth operations and providing reliable service to our customers.
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys bushwalking and yoga, and loves spending quality time with her family and friends.
Beck Busch
Solutions Implementation Associate
Having graduated from the University of Auckland with an honours degree in Computer Engineering, Beck brings software, electrical, and problem solving expertise.
After working in software development, Beck now uses his technology and electrical skills to support the deployment of electric vehicles and chargers across Auckland.
Outside of work, Beck enjoys the gym and spending time with family.
